The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong warning to Nigerians about a fake N85,000 empowerment message being circulated in President Bola Tinubu’s name.
In a statement released Tuesday evening, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka described the scheme as a scam orchestrated by fraudsters requesting banking details under the guise of an empowerment payment. The scammers are reportedly asking people to call 07078309083 to claim the bogus N85,000 offer.
“This is a scam, and we urge members of the public to disregard the message and refrain from calling the posted number or any numbers associated with the message,” Morka stated.
The APC also called on security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice, warning citizens to be vigilant and protect their personal information.
This alert serves as a reminder: Always verify the authenticity of financial offers, especially those shared through unofficial channels or requesting sensitive details like bank account numbers.
