Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has moved one step closer to becoming Nigeria’s all-time leading scorer, thanks to his impressive brace against Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA qualifier.
Osimhen’s two goals in the first half helped Nigeria secure a crucial 3-0 win over Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. This victory not only boosted Nigeria’s chances in the qualifiers but also cemented Osimhen’s status as one of the country’s greatest strikers.
With his 25th goal for the Super Eagles, Osimhen surpassed Segun Odegbami’s record of 23 goals, becoming the second-highest scorer in Nigerian history. Achieving this feat in just 39 caps since his debut in 2017 is a testament to Osimhen’s incredible talent and dedication.
While Osimhen has made significant strides, he still has some way to go to catch up with Rashidi Yekini’s all-time record. Nevertheless, his impressive form and consistent goal-scoring ability make him a strong contender to break Yekini’s record in the near future.
