Popular Nigerian rapper, Tochukwu Ojogwu, known as Odumodublvck, has stirred reactions online after claiming that Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal is better than Argentine football legend, Lionel Messi.
The rapper made the statement following Yamal’s standout performance in Barcelona’s 3-2 El Clasico victory over Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday night, where the 17-year-old winger provided two crucial assists to help Barca lift the King’s Cup.
Praising Yamal’s stellar showing, Odumodublvck argued that Messi did not perform at Yamal’s level during his teenage years.
Posting on his X handle, he wrote:
“Yamal is better than Lionel Messi. Na me, Kala talk am. At 17, Messi was not touching this [Yamal’s] level. I saw him live. I saw him, you cannot whine me. Nobody can whine me.”
His comment has since sparked mixed reactions across social media platform.
