The Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced a 10-day break for all public and private schools across the state to mark the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
According to a statement signed by Bukar Modu, Director of Schools Management, on behalf of the Commissioner for Education, the holiday will run from Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 15, 2025.
The break lines up with the Eid-el-Kabir celebration on Friday, June 7, as declared by the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, and also includes Democracy Day on Wednesday, June 12.
During this period, all schools are expected to remain closed to give students, teachers, and school staff the chance to fully take part in the festivities.
Professor Adam Idris, the Commissioner for Education, wished everyone in the state a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration.
