Napoli have reportedly reached a €65 million verbal agreement with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for the sale of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window.
While the Italian club is eager to seal the deal—below the striker’s €75 million release clause—Osimhen remains undecided, with a strong preference to stay in Europe and compete at the highest level, particularly in the UEFA Champions League.
The 26-year-old, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has long been a target for Al Hilal, but the move hinges on his final decision. Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal had previously shown interest, but Osimhen’s high wage demands and transfer fee are reportedly pushing them away.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is keen to finalize the sale to fund summer reinforcements, especially after losing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and missing out on key targets in January. Head coach Antonio Conte is said to be frustrated by the club’s slow progress in the transfer market.
Despite the Saudi offer being below the release clause, Napoli may accept it if full payment is made by June.
