Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, added another major achievement to his career on Sunday night by winning the ‘Digital Artiste of the Year’ award at the prestigious Headies Awards, held at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
The “Timeless” hitmaker was recognized for his outstanding online presence, massive global streaming numbers, and consistent engagement with fans across various digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Audiomack.
It was a night of double celebration for Davido, who not only clinched an award but also played a special role by presenting the highly coveted ‘Next Rated’ award to rising star Odumodublvck.
This victory further cements Davido’s reputation as one of Africa’s most influential digital forces, following a record-breaking 2023 where his album ‘Timeless’ earned him an international Grammy nomination and achieved some of the highest first-week streaming numbers for an African album.
