One of the top contenders for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in Anambra State, Mr. Paul Chukwuma, has resigned from the party just ahead of its governorship primary election slated for Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Chukwuma, who had been a prominent aspirant in the race, made the announcement through a resignation letter addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Ward 2, Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area.
No Clear Reason for Resignation Yet
While Chukwuma did not disclose specific reasons for his withdrawal from the APC, his resignation letter emphasized his continued support for the party’s progressive ideals and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a card-carrying member of the APC.
Rest assured of my support to our shared progressive ideas as I will devote more time to pursuing the realization of a safe and prosperous Anambra State of our dream,” Chukwuma wrote.
What’s Next?
Chukwuma has not yet announced his next political move or if he plans to contest under a different party platform. However, his decision comes just hours before the primary and has stirred speculation about shifting alliances or internal party disagreements.
