The 17th edition of the prestigious Headies Awards, themed “Back to Base,” lit up Lagos on Sunday, April 27, 2025, bringing together the brightest stars in the Nigerian and African music industries.
Key figures like Davido, Don Jazzy, Tems, Rema, and Odumodu Blvck were among the winners celebrated for their outstanding achievements. Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, who performed live with his wife Priscilla Ojo, also captured hearts with his energetic stage presence.
The night was equally emotional, especially when the late Mohbad was honoured with the Best Street-Hop Artist award for his song “Ask About Me.” His wife, Wunmi, their son Liam, and his brother Adura stepped forward to accept the award, with Wunmi delivering a moving speech about keeping Mohbad’s legacy alive for their young son.
The ceremony was truly star-studded. Dignitaries like Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy, Regina Daniels, Nancy Isime, BamBam, and Cubana Chiefpriest were among the notable personalities spotted at the glamorous event.
