Lucky Udu Compares VeryDarkMan to Jesus Christ Amidst EFCC Arrest Controversy

Nigerian media personality Lucky Udu has sparked major reactions online following his emotional commentary on the recent arrest of controversial online critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

VDM was allegedly arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) shortly after leaving a GTBank branch, where he had gone to assist his mother with a complaint about missing funds. Since the incident, his family and legal team reportedly have not been allowed access to him, further fueling public concern.

In a video shared to his Instagram page, Lucky Udu questioned the legality and transparency of the arrest, stating there has been no official confirmation from the EFCC. He highlighted fears of possible mental and physical torture being used to silence the outspoken critic.

In a bold comparison that drew mixed reactions, Udu likened VDM to Jesus Christ, stating:

“Jesus came to help people… and at the end of the day, he was crucified while a thief and killer was freed. When I saw VDM’s picture, I felt pity.”

Udu’s remarks have stirred debate across social media, with some Nigerians agreeing with his perspective and others criticizing what they deemed a dramatic comparison.
