Veteran Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah has made it clear he’s not stepping aside for younger actors when it comes to romantic roles. The 54-year-old film icon said he’s still very relevant in the genre that made him a household name.
Nouah made this statement on Sunday, April 6, 2024, during a live conversation with content creator Enioluwa Adeoluwa at the premiere of Radio Voice in Lagos.
Responding to the idea that being called an “OG lover boy” means he’s been edged out, Nouah firmly rejected the notion.
“That actually sounds like a relegation. How can you relegate me to the back? We are still in front, nothing for all of you. The sky is big enough for every bird to fly,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.
With over two decades of acting under his belt, Ramsey Nouah has consistently held his ground in love-themed films. In recent years, he’s led notable roles in Need to Love (2023), a gripping drama centered around a complicated love triangle.
He also delivered standout performances in emotionally charged roles such as Secret Behind the Pain and The Right Kind of Wrong in 2022, proving he still commands strong screen presence.
In Forgiving Love (2023), Nouah took a more introspective turn, portraying a man dealing with heartbreak and the weight of emotional scars—a role that showed his depth and maturity as an actor.
“You’ve remained consistent, and we’re all learning from you in this new generation,” Enioluwa said, commending the actor for his enduring influence.
Often dubbed “Nollywood’s classic lover boy,” Ramsey Nouah continues to evolve in the industry—not only acting but also directing and mentoring emerging talent.
For Nouah, love stories in Nollywood aren’t just for the young — they’re for anyone who can deliver the emotion. And he’s not stepping aside anytime soon.
