Nigerian dancehall artist Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has recently participated in the viral “30 Days Rant Challenge” on TikTok, where individuals express their frustrations about current societal issues.
In her video, Cynthia addressed the Nigerian government’s complete removal of fuel subsidies. She expressed that while she initially supported the subsidy removal, she is now experiencing the resulting hardships firsthand. She appealed to the administration to consider a more gradual approach to subsidy removal to alleviate the economic strain on citizens.
This isn’t the first time Cynthia has voiced her opinions on President Tinubu’s policies. Previously, she acknowledged the challenges posed by the total removal of fuel subsidies but argued that Tinubu is not the most terrible president Nigeria has ever had. She suggested that easing into total subsidy removal with appropriate development and infrastructure would be a more sustainable approach.
The “30 Days Rant Challenge” was initiated by an NYSC member named Raye, who used the platform to express dissatisfaction with the country’s current state. The challenge has since gained significant traction on social media, with many Nigerians, including notable figures like Cynthia Morgan, joining in to share their perspectives.
Cynthia’s recent appearance in the challenge has sparked discussions among social media users, with many expressing concern over her changed appearance and voice, highlighting the broader societal impact of current economic policies.
