Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has recently been vocal about his Islamic faith on social media, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. He has used his platform to share religious insights and advice with his followers.
In one of his posts, Naira Marley emphasized the importance of believing in Jesus within the Islamic faith, stating, “No Muslim is a Muslim if he does not believe in Jesus (Peace be upon him).” This statement highlights the Islamic teaching that recognizing Jesus as a prophet is integral to the faith.
Islam is perfect, Muslims are not. If I make a mistake, blame me, but not my religion.”
Additionally, he has provided guidance to fellow Muslims on how to complete the Quran during Ramadan. He suggested that reading 20 pages daily, divided into four pages after each of the five obligatory prayers, would allow one to finish the Quran within the 30 days of Ramadan.
Naira Marley also addressed the topic of inadvertent eating during fasting hours. He reassured Muslims that if someone eats or drinks forgetfully while fasting, they should continue their fast, as such an act is considered a provision from Allah.
Furthermore, he advised against engaging in betting during Ramadan, urging his fellow Muslims to focus on fasting and spiritual growth during this sacred period.
Through these messages, Naira Marley has sparked discussions among his followers, encouraging them to reflect on their faith and practices during Ramadan.
