President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday held a high-level meeting with Mr. Massad Boulos, former Senior Advisor for Africa under President Donald J. Trump’s administration, in Paris, France.
According to a statement from Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the discussion focused on establishing a strategic economic and security partnership between Nigeria, Africa, and the United States—built on the pillars of mutual respect, prosperity, and regional stability.
Mr. Boulos conveyed President Trump’s strong interest in deepening U.S. engagement with Nigeria, highlighting the country’s role as a cornerstone of America’s policy towards Africa.
“The U.S. is eager to work closely with President Tinubu to boost American investment, support energy and infrastructure development, and drive trade and job creation across Nigeria and Africa,” Boulos said.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional peace and security, with special focus on the Sahel and the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Mr. Boulos acknowledged Nigeria’s leadership role on the continent and expressed support for President Tinubu’s stabilisation initiatives in key African regions.
President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to building meaningful alliances with the United States, rooted in transparency, opportunity, and mutual respect, with a shared vision to elevate Africa’s global economic standing.
