Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has alleged that he has been arrested by Nigerian immigration authorities upon his return to the country.
Bobrisky raised the alarm via his Instagram page on Tuesday, stating that he was detained without being informed of his offence.
“Guys, I have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I did o,” he wrote.
As of now, immigration officials are yet to confirm the arrest or provide any official statement on the matte
Bobrisky had previously announced that he had left Nigeria to focus on his well-being. His departure followed legal troubles dating back to April last year, when he was arrested and sentenced to six months in prison for abusing the naira—a crime under Nigerian law.
Following his release, activist VeryDarkMan leaked an audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid ₦15 million to some EFCC officials to clear money laundering charges against him. Bobrisky denied the claim, calling the recording fake and threatening legal action.
He was later arrested again on October 21 at the Seme border while allegedly attempting to flee the country. After being re-arrested on November 1, he maintained his innocence.
In a recent TikTok live session, Bobrisky revealed that he had relocated to an undisclosed country where he is “officially recognized as female” and enjoys the respect he desires.
“Nothing will bring me back to Nigeria. I am never living in Nigeria. If I need to come to Nigeria, it will be visitation because this country suit me,” he stated.
With the latest development, it remains to be seen whether immigration authorities will clarify the reasons behind his alleged arrest.
