Manchester United has included Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in their four-man striker shortlist for the summer transfer window, reports PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Red Devils are seeking to bolster their attacking options after a disappointing season from current strikers Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has scored 26 goals in 30 appearances, including 20 strikes in 22 league games, making him the top scorer in the Super Lig. He is set to return to Napoli in the summer but is likely to depart on a permanent basis.
In addition to Osimhen, Manchester United is also considering Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike. Head coach Ruben Amorim has previously worked with Gyokeres at Sporting.
Meanwhile, Napoli is reportedly considering Rasmus Hojlund as a potential replacement for Osimhen, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Osimhen is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles, preparing for crucial World Cup qualifier games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. “It’s a dream of every footballer to play at the World Cup… I am desperate, like other players, to make it to the 2026 tournament,” Osimhen said.
