The Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, held their first training session on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda. The session, overseen by head coach Eric Chelle, saw 22 players participate.
This marks the team’s first training session under Chelle since his appointment in January. The Super Eagles opened their camp on Monday and will conduct two additional training sessions before facing Rwanda’s Amavubi on Friday.
The match, scheduled for Friday at 5:00 pm Nigerian time, will take place at Kigali’s Amahoro Stadium. This will be the fifth match of the qualification campaign for the three-time African champions. Rwanda’s Amavubi held their first training session earlier, preparing for the encounter under coach Adel Amrouche.
