The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed substantive commissioners of police for the state commands of Abia, Lagos, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom.
This is according to a statement issued by the Head of Press and Public Relations for the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani.
The newly appointed commissioners are as follows: Isah Danladi Nda for Abia State, Olarewaju Ishola Olawale for Lagos State, Anthonia Adaku Uche Anya for Ebonyi State, and Miller Gajere Dantawaye for Akwa Ibom State.
Nda will succeed Kenechukwu Onwuemelie in Abia, while Olawale replaces Adegoke Fayoade in Lagos. Anya takes over from Augustina Ogbodo in Ebonyi, and Dantawaye steps in for Waheed Ayilara in Akwa Ibom.
Chairman of the PSC, DIG Hashimu Argungu, emphasized that the newly appointed commissioners must work to make a significant positive impact on security in their respective states.
Argungu also noted that the appointments should be viewed as a call to serve the nation with increased commitment and dedication.
The approval for the appointments was signed by Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission, and has been forwarded to the Inspector General of Police for further implementation.
The statement reads, “DIG Argungu said the Commission will monitor their performance, stressing that they should not waste time to hit the ground running.
“He told the new commissioners that it is their duty to build a competitive, competent and efficient police force in their states of posting, adding that the Commission will continue to encourage them for optimum service delivery.
“He said their appointments should be seen as a call to greater dedication to the service of their fatherland.
“The approval of the postings signed by the Secretary to the Commission Chief Onyemuche Nnamani has been conveyed to the Inspector General of Police for implementation.”
