The remains of the late All Progressives Congress Chairman in Oyo State, Isaac Omodewu, have arrived in Nigeria from the United States.
Omodewu, who passed away in the U.S. on August 19 after a prolonged illness, was 61 years old, PUNCH Online reported.
APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Wale Sadare, confirmed on September 1 that his remains would arrive in Nigeria on Thursday.
His body landed at Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Thursday afternoon around 1.20pm and was received by several dignitaries, including Senator AbdulFatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly; Senator Teslim Folarin, APC’s governorship candidate in the 2023 election; and former ALGON Chairman in Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, among others, reports Newspeak.
Omodewu is scheduled to be buried on Friday, September 13, following a funeral service at First Baptist Church, Otu, in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State.
