Confirming their arrest, the spokesman of the NSCDC in the state, Ayoola Michael, said the case has been transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation.
The Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested an 81-year-old man over the alleged def!lement of a 12-year-old girl in Offa, Offa local government area of Kwara State.
Aside from Oke, two other suspects, 37-year-old Sikiru Lawal and Moshood Ayinde, 37 were also arrested in connection to the s3xual assault.
The suspects were arrested on Sunday, September 1, 2024, following a report lodged by the victim’s father at the NSCDC office in Offa.
Confirming their arrest to newsmen, the spokesman of the NSCDC in the state, Ayoola Michael, said the case has been transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation.
‘’Preliminary investigation revealed that the three suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions and threatened her not to open up to anyone about the illicit acts. Furthermore, a detailed medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was ruptured and provided clear evidence of repeated s3xual pen*tration. The suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for onward prosecution.”
