The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is seeking public assistance to help locate the family of a 15-year-old girl named Quadija Abimbola. She was brought to the NSCDC station by a good Samaritan after being found wandering in Owode-Ede, Osun State.
According to a statement from the Command Public Relations Officer, Adeleke Kehinde, Quadija was discovered roaming the streets at around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025. The girl was taken to a nearby NSCDC division in Owode-Ede by the good Samaritan who found her.
The spokesperson for the NSCDC reported that Quadija had traveled with her mother, Mrs. Aishat Abimbola, and three siblings from Lagos to Osun State to celebrate the New Year. Unfortunately, after the festivities, her mother took her to the Owode-Ede market to sell detergent, promising to return after the day’s sales, but she did not show up.
Despite ongoing efforts to contact Quadija’s parents or relatives, all attempts have been unsuccessful. The NSCDC is urging anyone with information about the family or the girl to come forward.
