The Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, on Thursday signed the state’s 2025 appropriation bill of N1.58 trillion into law.
The governor presented the budget estimates of N1.5 trillion to the State House of Assembly on December 12.
He commended the lawmakers for the expeditious scrutiny and passage of the bill.
The governor restated his administration’s readiness to strengthen the existing synergy with the parliament.
He urged the lawmakers to invoke the instrument of oversight, to ensure the Executive arm complies with the budget.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, said the House commenced the budget screening about three months ago.
He said the quick passage of the budget was achieved due to the outstanding performance of the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mustapha Ndajiwo.
The speaker commended the governor for his support to the legislature and assured him that the Assembly would continue to deepen the existing cordial relationship with the Executive for the realisation of a new Niger.
