Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State, is gearing up to celebrate academic excellence as 50 students will graduate with first-class honors during the convocation for the 2023/2024 academic session.
Announcing this, Vice Chancellor Prof. Olasebikan Fakolujo revealed that the university will confer degrees on 626 students, including 114 postgraduate candidates. Among the graduates, 50 achieved first-class, 290 secured second-class upper, 215 earned second-class lower, 67 achieved third-class, and four received a pass.
Miss Mary Omachi of the Department of Mass Communication emerged as the best graduating student with an impressive CGPA of 4.88, underscoring the institution’s dedication to academic and research excellence.
In addition to celebrating its students, JABU plans to honor distinguished Nigerians, including Senator Oluremi Tinubu, with honorary degrees.
Prof. Fakolujo also urged the Federal Government to extend the new student loan scheme to private university students, emphasizing their equal citizenship rights and contribution to the nation.
