Mike Bamiloye, the renowned Nigerian evangelist and filmmaker, sent out a warning to those who speak ill of men of God, emphasising the potential consequences of such actions.
In a statement on his official X account, Bamiloye referenced biblical accounts to point the dangers of criticising spiritual leaders.
“Some people have carried unnecessary curses they ought not to have carried in the first place. Why? Because they had insulted some genuine men of God who carry fires meant for the devil,” he said.
Drawing from 2 Samuel 6:16 and 6:23, Bamiloye cited the story of Michal, Saul’s daughter, who despised King David for dancing in celebration before God.
He pointed out that while David did not curse Michal, she incurred divine retribution, remaining childless until her death.
“That is how some ignorant and arrogant people are getting their fingers burnt in the fire they cannot quench,” he stated. “Because some men of God had disappointed you does not imply every man of God you see should now be despised and insulted. It is a very dangerous venture.”
Bamiloye concluded saying, “Some people are always looking for any excuse to despise and talk against men of God. Fear for your future!”
