Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State was among the distinguished dignitaries who attended a special thanksgiving service on Monday, November 11, to celebrate the 70th birthday of Pastor Tunde Bakare, the founder of the Citadel Global Community Church.
The celebration, which was held in Lagos, had other notable political figures, such as Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat and Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.
A host of former governors and monarchs were also in attendance, including former Ogun State Governors, Olusegun Osoba and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who attended the service, shared pictures from the event on social media, expressing his joy at joining others to commemorate the milestone.
In addition to the celebration, Sanwo-Olu revealed that Bakare’s autobiography, titled ‘The Last, But Definitely Not the Least,’ was officially launched at the event.
He wrote, “Today, I attended a special celebration service to commemorate the 70th birthday of Pastor Tunde Bakare, Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, and the launch of his autobiography, ‘The Last, But Definitely Not The Least.’
“Pastor Tunde Bakare’s dynamic preaching and teaching have inspired many, and his dedication to service and commitment truly stand out. He has positively impacted the body of Christ and has been a beacon of hope through his efforts in spreading the gospel.
“As he celebrates this remarkable milestone, I pray that God grants him grace and strength to continue the vital work he does. May He also bless him with good health, allowing him to render even more service to humanity and to God’s kingdom.”
