A Nigerian fashion designer, Maureen Esisi, has refuted rumours about her sexuality, denying allegations of being a lesbian or bisexual.
The speculation arose last month after Esisi posted a video on social media showing her sharing a kiss with another woman at a club.
This, however, sparked curiosity among her followers.
In a recent Instagram post, the entrepreneur firmly dismissed the claims.
She stated, “I’m not a lesbian, and I’m not even bisexual.”
While asserting that no proof exists, Esisi challenged anyone with evidence to support the rumours to come forward.
She also refuted claims that she contracted sexually transmitted diseases from engaging in anal sex.
She described the accusations as “baseless” and a Nollywood story, stating that she is only attracted to men.
She clarified, “First, Stella said I was having anal sex with an older man until my butt started leaking and I was caught and asked to leave the marriage. I handled that one. Then it was rumoured that I was caught on a matrimonial bed, butt naked with a man. I still handled that one.
“Now it is being said that I am a lesbian, that two women are fighting over me, that the men around me are covering up, and that I’m a renowned plate licker. I have a video of me stark naked in bed with a woman which was used to blackmail me. I would like to see that video. Please, if you have any video of that sort, kindly go right ahead and post it online; you must do. I want to see something.
“Am I treating STDs regularly? Last I checked, don’t you actually have to have sex with someone to contract a ‘sexually’ transmitted disease? Isn’t that why it is called a sexually transmitted disease in the first place????
“I’m not a lesbian, I’m not even bisexual, and I have no issues with people who are. My oozing sex appeal is my biggest problem.”
