The abducted Registrar of the National Eye Centre in Kaduna State, Ganiyat Popoola, has regained her freedom.
Popoola was kidnapped with her husband and a nephew by bandits in December 2023.
The husband, a military officer, was released in March while the bandits held on to the doctor and the nephew.

The President of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Dr. Tope Osundara, confirmed the development to journalists on Thursday.
He said the victims were released on Wednesday evening.
The NARD president thanked all those who contributed to the safe return of the victims to the family.
