With less than 48 hours to Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Edo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun distributing sensitive materials to the different local government areas across the state.
Daily Post reports that the State Resident Electoral Commisissioner, REC, Dr Onuoha Anugbum, told journalists on Thursday at the Benin branch of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, that the materials would be distributed to the 18 local government areas in the state.
Anugbum said the distribution is ahead of the Saturday, September 21, governorship election in the State.
According to him: “We are here, we have commenced the distribution of sensitive materials to the local government area.”
The distribution process is being done in the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria, located at the Ring Road, by Akpakpava Junction.
Scores of commercial buses hired by INEC are seen lined up at the bank’s side of the road.
Also, scores of journalists, from print, electronic and online media are at the venue.
