A man identified as Kabiru Mohammed, has been arrested by the Plateau State Police Command over the alleged theft of a Toyota Hiace bus in Jos.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Alfred Alabo, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
According to the PPRO, the vehicle was reported missing by its owner on September 16.
“Upon receiving a report of the missing vehicle, our gallant operatives attached to Bukuru Division immediately swung into action by executing stop and search operations within the area,” the statement read.
“Consequently, the vehicle was recovered in the possession of one Kabiru Mohammed, male of Sabon Gari Narabi Toro LGA of Bauchi State on 18/09/2024 at about 0045hrs.
“The suspect is currently in our custody providing us with useful information that will lead further recoveries
“Upon conclusion of our investigation the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.
“The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina psc, is committed to ensuring the safety of lives and properties within the state, hence he would not condone any act that could truncate the fragile peace on the Plateau.
“The Police boss is also calling on the general public to always provide the police and other security agencies with useful, timely and accurate information that could enable us serve you better and aid our operation on Plateau.”
