After four long years apart, popular Nigerian actress Jumoke George has finally been reunited with her daughter, Adeola, who was trafficked to Mali in search of better opportunities.
Adeola’s return to Nigeria comes just days after the actress publicly cried out about her daughter’s disappearance. The emotional update was shared on Monday by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chair of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“Breaking! Adeola, daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, who had been missing for four years after being trafficked to Mali, is finally back home,” Dabiri-Erewa wrote. “We just received her, alongside Biola Adebayo, who first shared the story, and actor Adeniyi Johnson.”
The story gained public attention after Jumoke George appeared on the talk show “Talk to B”, hosted by Biola Adebayo. During the interview, Jumoke revealed that Adeola—her first child—had been living with her grandmother in Ibadan before suddenly disappearing. The last the family heard from her, she said she was planning to travel to Lagos.
Years later, Adeola reached out to her family, asking for forgiveness and admitting she had left the country with friends, hoping for a better life abroad.
Jumoke also used the interview to speak openly about her personal struggles. She shared that ongoing health issues had forced her to step away from acting, leading her to return payments for roles, borrow money for treatment, and cancel multiple jobs. She revealed she’s currently facing medical tests estimated to cost around ₦400,000.
Biola Adebayo also confirmed that the actress is now receiving medical care at a public hospital in Lagos.
Despite the emotional and financial challenges, Jumoke expressed deep gratitude for her daughter’s safe return, ending a painful chapter that had defined her life for the past four years.
