Fresh controversy has erupted around Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), following allegations that he is attempting to flee the country amid his ongoing case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a video shared online, Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu claimed that VDM and his associates are secretly planning to smuggle him out of Nigeria to Ghana to evade legal proceedings. Maduagwu urged immigration authorities and the EFCC to remain vigilant and stop any escape attempt.
This comes shortly after comedian and former BBNaija star Deeone alleged that VDM is expected to appear in court on Monday, May 12. Deeone, a known critic of VDM, warned that continued support from fans could land the activist in deeper trouble. He also claimed VDM’s legal battles are far from over despite his recent release from custody.
The allegations have sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters defending VDM while critics call for strict enforcement of legal processes.
