Highly respected transfer insider David Ornstein has shut down speculation linking Victor Osimhen with a big-money move to Manchester United this summer.
Despite the Nigerian striker’s blistering form at Galatasaray, where he’s netted 30 goals in 34 games this season (as per Transfermarkt), Ornstein confirmed on social media that Osimhen is “not on Manchester United’s agenda” for the upcoming transfer window.
“Despite reports you might be reading, he is not on the agenda for Manchester United,” Ornstein stated. “They would have other options or stick with internal solutions such as Rasmus Hojlund.”
The €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract with Napoli had sparked rumors of a potential blockbuster move to Old Trafford. However, United—reportedly dealing with financial constraints and uncertain European qualification—appear to be shifting focus to more cost-effective signings and internal development, particularly with Hojlund still viewed as a long-term project.
This revelation dims hopes of a Premier League switch for Osimhen, at least to United. Still, the 26-year-old remains a hot commodity, with clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG still monitoring his situation closely.
Osimhen, a self-declared fan of English football, may yet land his dream Premier League move—but it won’t be through the doors of Old Trafford this summer.
