How to apply for the MTN Scholarships 2023 | TechCabal

In a bold show of commitment to education and youth development, the MTN Foundation has revealed that it has invested over ₦3 billion in scholarships over the past 15 years, directly impacting nearly 15,000 Nigerian students.

This announcement comes as the Foundation officially opens its 2025 scholarship programme, continuing its legacy of empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers through education.

 Three Scholarship Categories, One Goal

Since its launch, the MTN Foundation Scholarship Programme has disbursed 14,728 scholarships under three key categories:

  • MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) – For 300-level students in science and tech disciplines with a minimum CGPA of 3.5.

  • MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) – For 200-level visually impaired students with at least a CGPA of 2.5.

  • Top 10 UTME Scholarship – Automatically awarded to the top 10 JAMB scorers annually.

Each scholarship now provides ₦300,000 per year (increased from ₦200,000 in 2024), renewable until graduation based on academic performance.

 More Than Just Financial Aid

The programme goes beyond financial support by offering mentorship, internship placements, and digital certifications, equipping students with skills essential for success in the modern workforce.

Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, shared the organisation’s vision:

“Education is the backbone of national development, and at MTN Foundation, we are committed to ensuring that no bright mind is left behind due to financial constraints. This scholarship is not just about funding education; it is about investing in Nigeria’s future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers.”

Over the years, the Foundation has consistently supported underserved groups, especially blind students, and promoted STEM education to help drive Nigeria’s digital and economic advancement.
