Empowering Women: Obaseki’s Message on Mother’s Day 2025

Former Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has extended heartfelt Mother’s Day wishes to women and mothers across Nigeria and beyond, praising their resilience, sacrifices, and dedication in shaping families and society.

In a statement issued in Benin City on Sunday, Obaseki emphasized the need for greater government support for mothers, urging policymakers to prioritize initiatives that enhance their well-being.

“As we commemorate the 2025 Mother’s Day, I celebrate our women and mothers for their unwavering dedication, resilience, and sacrifices in shaping our families and society.”

He highlighted the multifaceted roles of women, recognizing their ability to balance family, career, and community service with remarkable strength.

Obaseki stressed that more must be done to empower women, particularly in: Maternal healthcare improvements, expanded educational and economic opportunities, Gender-inclusive policies to increase women’s representation in leadership

“We must promote policies that ensure more women are given leadership roles and platforms to thrive,” he added.

His statement comes as part of ongoing discussions on women’s rights and gender equality, reinforcing the call for better support systems for Nigerian mothers.
