The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed a viral AI-generated image that depicted him as an alhaji, wearing Islamic attire.
The image, which surfaced in December 2024, showed Adeboye standing in front of the Kaabah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia—a holy site for Muslims. It was shared by an X user, @Sarkideyforyou, with the caption:
“Pastor Adeboye, may Allah guide you to the right path.”
The post quickly went viral, amassing over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes by December 22, 2024.
Adeboye’s Response to the Viral Image
During the first Holy Ghost Night of the new year on Saturday, January 4, Adeboye addressed the viral image, saying:
“I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.”
While he did not dwell on the matter, he shifted focus to more pressing concerns, urging prayers for global peace amid ongoing conflicts that could escalate into a world war.
Prophecies for 2025
Adeboye also spoke about the rise of mockers, predicting that many would not make it through the year. However, he clarified that God does not desire the death of men because he needs them to fulfil their mission here on earth.
