Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State signed the 2025 state appropriation bill into law on Monday, marking a significant milestone in the state’s developmental agenda. The budget, amounting to N698,659,496,000, was passed by the State House of Assembly just a week prior.
The financial blueprint allocates N265.037 billionto recurrent expenditure and N433.622 billion to capital expenditure, reflecting the administration’s emphasis on infrastructure and economic recovery.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held in the Executive Council Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Akure, Aiyedatiwa described the 2025 budget as a strategic initiative to rebuild the state’s economy and address pressing socio-economic challenges.

He emphasized the administration’s focus on capital development, stating, “We have deliberately allocated the higher percentage to capital development to jumpstart the economy and initiate massive infrastructural renewal across the state. The main objective of this budget is to make life easy for our people. This objective is sacrosanct and non-negotiable.”
The governor also highlighted investments in key sectors, including agriculture, education, and infrastructure, as critical to the state’s growth. “The budget reflects our collective vision for the future of Ondo State and demonstrates that when we work together, we can achieve great things for our people,” he added.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Olamide Oladiji, praised the governor’s unwavering commitment to advancing Ondo State’s economy. He described the budget as a significant stride toward good governance, economic growth, and social justice.
The governor further reassured Ondo residents of his administration’s dedication to fostering economic development, achieving sustainable food security, strengthening community resilience, and promoting social inclusion and security.
