Two people died and 15 others were injured in a lone accident at Saapade along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Thursday.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Mrs. Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident on Friday in Abeokuta.
She said a Toyota Hiace bus was involved in the accident.
According to her, the crash was caused by a tyre burst which caused the bus to lose control, somersaulted, and crashed.
Okpe said: “18 people – nine men, five women, two boys and two girls – were in the bus marked LSR 585 YH.
“15 people – eight men, four women, two boys, and one girl injured while two people comprising one man and a woman died.
“The injured victims were taken to PATMAG Hospital, Ogere, while the deceased were deposited at the State General Hospital morgue, Isara.”
