President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has insisted that the controversial tax reform bills which have generated uproar amongst Nigerians is here to stay.
This is even as he disclosed that the hallmark of a good leader is the ability to do what you have to do at the time it ought to be done.
Since President Tinubu transmitted the bill to the National Assembly on October 3, 2024, it has been met with stiff resistance and push back from the northern region of the country.
Addressing the matter during the presidential media chat in Lagos State, Tinubu insisted that there is no going back on the bill.
“The tax reform is here to stay. The reform is pro-poor, and it is meant to widen the tax net so we can have more people paying.
“The hallmark of a good leader is the ability to do what you have to do at the time it ought to be done.”
