The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Monday signed into law a disability protection bill.
Yahaya also appointed an Executive Secretary to head the state’s disability commission.
The assent heralds the establishment of a commission, which will take care of Persons Living with Disabilities in the state.
The governor appointed a senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Gombe State University, Dr Ishaku Adamu, to steer the commission.
Speaking during the signing at the Government House in Gombe, he remarked that since his assumption of office, he has been supporting the growth of the PWDs community.
