New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara made the most spectacular touchdown catch of Week 15 with a ridiculous one-handed grab against the Washington Commanders. Shortly after, Kamara was out of the game and headed to the blue injury tent.
The injury happened on a play where Kamara didn’t even touch the ball. Kamara headed back to the New Orleans’ locker room with a groin strain. He was questionable to return, but never did.
Kamara is considered day-to-day moving forward, according to Saints beat writer Nick Underwood. He had an MRI on his groin and the team is awaiting the results.
Darren Rizzi said Alvin Kamara’s injury is a groin abductor type of situation. He said it felt minor and he felt it on the touchdown, but he’s going to continue to go through tests. But then when asked if it was minor, Rizzi said he wasn’t going to make a medical declaration.

The Commanders led the Saints 20-7 at the time of the injury.
Here’s video of Kamara heading to the locker room:
Kamara only has five carries for 12 yards rushing at time of the injury, but he’s also added four catches for 56 yards, including the touchdown grab.
The Saints’ offense has looked pretty lifeless with either Spencer Rattler or Jake Naener at quarterback. You can only imagine this offense will get even uglier if Kamara is sidelined for any length of time.
We’ll update this story as it develops.
