Nigerian-born UK pastor Tobi Adegboyega, on Wednesday, finally addressed the recent reports surrounding his impending deportation to Nigeria.
The 44-year-old former leader of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, which was shut down following allegations of a £1.87 million fraud, has lost his legal battle against deportation despite claiming that the move would infringe upon his human rights.
According to a report by The Telegraph, an immigration tribunal has ruled that Adegboyega be deported to Nigeria, citing financial misconduct within his church as the reason behind the decision.
However, Adegboyega has come out to dismiss the reports, assuring his followers that there is no cause for alarm.
Taking to his Instagram page, Adegboyega said, “I’ve heard a lot today, and I’m doing this because our friends, our fans, people who are worried. I’m right here at home, no cause for alarm. And naturally, I dismiss things that have to do with retrogression.”

Adegboyega, who is a cousin of Star Wars actor John Boyega, further stated that he is proud of his achievements and has survived numerous challenges in the past. “Every Nigerian should be proud of me,” he said.
“I have survived all sorts, the matter they are propagating is the smallest of matters. No panic. I love London city, it is my city, and nobody can do anything.”
Adegboyega’s deportation saga has sparked widespread controversy, with many questioning the UK government’s decision to deport him despite his claims of human rights infringement.
As the situation continues to unfold, Adegboyega remains adamant that he will not be deported, and his followers continue to rally behind him.
The case has also raised concerns about the treatment of Nigerian immigrants in the UK, with many calling for a review of the country’s immigration policies.
