There was a fire outbreak at the popular Bayan Tasha market in Damaturu, leading to the destruction of shops and goods worth millions of Naira.
The cause of the late night inferno was yet to be ascertained.
It was gathered that the fire was controlled through the combined efforts of firefighters, as well as good samaritans.
As of the time of filing this report, no life was reported to have been lost, but unquantifiable goods and other belongings were destroyed.
One of the residents of Damaturu, Mustapha Mohammed Gujba took to his Facebook page and wrote about the incident:
“Today, we have received news of a fire outbreak at the market behind the motor park in Damaturu town.
“To those affected by this incident, we pray that Allah grants you comfort and replaces what you have lost with something better.”
