Gov Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has sworn in Barr. Musa Ikhilor, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), and Hon Samson Osagie, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua and made available to newsmen in Benin City, said the duo were sworn-in by the Governor 24 hours after assuming office.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice was earlier screened and confirmed by members of the State House of Assembly on Wednesday.
Swearing-in the first political appointees, the Governor charged them to help him achieve his vision for the State and ensure that the people come first.
“I was voted to work and everybody should be ready to work. I carefully selected these appointees. They’ve a proven integrity. Work with them so that we can do the best we should do.
“During my campaigns, I promised to work the best and that’s what we have done with these appointments. Our best is yet to come”,
he said.
In his response, the new SSG, Ikhilor, assured that the team would help the Governor in fulfilling his campaign promises, by driving meaningful change and development in the State.
On his part, Hon Samson Osagie, the new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, pledged to help the governor achieve his agenda for the people, assuring that he would ensure that the rights of Edo people were protected.
