The suspect, Amir Mohammed, 24, of Ja’en Quarters, in Gwale Local Government Area, was arrested on November 7, 2024, by a team of the Corps personnel on security duty at Sharada Federal Housing Estate, Kano.
The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a suspect in connection with a violent armed robbery incident.
The suspect, Amir Mohammed, 24, of Ja’en Quarters, in Gwale Local Government Area, was arrested on November 7, 2024, by a team of the Corps personnel on security duty at Sharada Federal Housing Estate, Kano.
The Corps Public Relations Officer in the state, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
“The suspect forcefully broke into the house of one Mustafa Abubakar, stabbed him and his family severally on various parts of their bodies, leaving them in a pool of blood,” the statement read.
“The suspect stabbed Abubakar in 11 sensitive parts of his body, including neck and chest, in an attempt to kill and rob him of his smartphone and laptop, which he planned to use to empty the victim’s bank accounts.”
The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the same compound earlier on November 1, and robbed the victim of his two sim cards.
“Effort is being made to apprehend one other accomplice, Abbas Danmama, who is still at large,” Idris-Abdullahi added.
“Following our preliminary investigations, the case would be handed over to the Nigeria Police for further investigation and necessary legal action.
