A manhunt has been launched for a tenant, Friday Julius, who fled after stoning his landlady in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that Friday allegedly struck his landlady with a stone during an altercation on Tuesday.
The incident, which took place in the Kiwi area of Ore, sparked commotion among neighbours who gathered as the situation escalated.
Eyewitnesses report that tensions between Friday’s wife and the landlady had been simmering for months, with frequent arguments.
“There was an argument that started in the morning between them, but it was resolved by elders in the area,’ one witness told Ondo state owned newspaper, HOPE.
“But now, in the evening, an argument broke out again between Friday’s wife and the landlady. Instead of attempting to defuse the situation, he picked up a large stone and struck the landlady from behind.”
When onlookers tried to assist the landlady, Friday warded them off with a cutlass before fleeing.
