Paul Ibe, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubukar has cautioned President Bola Tinubu and his team.
He urged them to swallow their pride and accept advice from Atiku.
Ibe noted that Nigeria is at a crossroads, as such Tinubu should take advice suggested by Atiku.
He was responding to an X user @JesusnotGod who wrote: “What did you do differently in 1999 as Nigeria’s number 2 citizen?
“You set us on this downward pedestal. If you had removed subsidy, we would have adjusted long ago and we wouldn’t be going through tough times now.”
Responding, Ibe posted: “Dear Peace, May the peace of the Lord be with you. It is good that we are having this debate.
“I hope that the Tinubu administration is humble enough, as suggested by @atiku, to harvest the outcome of this exercise.
“The Obasanjo administration in which Atiku Abubakar served as Vice President did indeed embark on a gradual removal of subsidy before it exited in 2007.
“This January 06, 2020, tweet is a confirmation of that. It is important that we know what our problems are and how to deal with them.
“Nigeria is at a crossroads. This is not a time to be engaged in revisionism for political expediency.”
