The immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on a condolence visit.
This was made known on Tuesday in a statement on X by Buhari’s Media Aide, Garba Shehu.
The former President was received at the Maiduguri Airport by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and Senator Ali Ndume, the lawmaker representing Borno South in the Senate.
Buhari is in the state to commiserate with residents over the devastating flood that took lives and destroyed properties.
Garba Shehu wrote: “Former President Muhammadu Buhari just landed in Maiduguri, Borno State, into the warm hands of Governor Babagana Zulum, Senator Ali Ndume and other political and government leaders in the state.
“The former president was away on vacation when the state suffered the recent devastating floods and is here to personally commiserate with the Shehu of Borno, the government, and the people of the state following the tragic incident.”
