Sarah Solarin, a 19-year-old Nigerian, has graduated with first-class honors in Computer Science from Babcock University, Nigeria. Her remarkable achievement earned her the title of the overall best-graduating student in the School of Computing and Engineering Sciences, a success she proudly shared on LinkedIn.
In addition to earning the highest cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in her department, Sarah was recognized on the Dean’s List and awarded as the overall Best Graduating Student of her faculty. She finished her bachelor’s degree with a flawless 5.0 GPA in her final semester and received an A grade for her final year project titled “Brain Tumor Identification and Classification Using YOLOv5 in Radiomics Analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scans.”
Sarah’s academic excellence earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious Google Generation Scholarship, the University Dean’s Prize for Highest CGPA, and the Engineer (Dr.) Akin Alade Family Award for best-graduating student. She also received the Folajimi Daodu Award, the Labulo Prize from Professors Biodun and Elizabeth Disu, and the Michael Adetutu Foundation’s Academic Excellence Award, which came with a cash prize, plaque, certificate, and access to life-coaching and career services.
