Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, marking their first conversation in two and a half years, ahead of a decision on Vucic’s participation in next week’s BRICS summit.
“I particularly thanked President Putin for ensuring that Russia will provide sufficient quantities of gas for Serbia this winter,” Vucic said in a video message on social media, adding that Serbia, although an EU candidate, will not change its stance on not imposing sanctions on Russia over the invasion of Ukraine.
