Stakeholders including members of civil society groups and the police community relations committee, among others, have commended Delta State Police Command for what they tagged excellent service delivery.
At a town hall meeting held on Saturday in commemoration of the NPF 2024 Servicom week, the stakeholders took turns to acknowledge the worthwhile contributions of the gallant officers and men of the Command in checkmating crimes in the state.
A popular activist, Akima Efemena lauded the Police in Delta “for their unwavering dedication to duty in maintaining peace and order”.
He acknowledged the fact that these duties come with a lot of pressure and expectation and assured the command of the continuous support and partnership with the police.
According to him, “the security situation in Delta state has seen significant improvement largely due to the strategic deployment of intelligent officers by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda”.
Efemena expressed the hope that the Command “will maintain the zeal and commitment going forward”.
Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman of PCRC Delta state Chapter, Oliver Eyefia noted that the leadership of the PCRC in Delta “is pleased with the command service delivery so far”.
He stated that “the Command’s synergy with the community is top-notch and should be sustained”
Leadership of the Delta state Police Command had during the week-long celebration engaged members of various communities in town hall meetings, and students at various higher institutions in the state where concerns were raised and possible solutions deliberated upon.
The Command also visited primary and secondary schools and carried out humanitarian services, assisted some of the school pupils with books and uniforms while using the same avenue to encourage the school pupils to be steadfast in their academics and shun all forms of criminal activities as they grow up.
