A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon in Lagos, where three individuals lost their lives and three others were injured in a devastating multi-vehicle accident at Second Rainbow on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, within the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area.
An eyewitness, who preferred to remain anonymous, reported that the crash occurred around 4 PM. The collision involved an oil tanker, two commercial buses, a Honda vehicle with the registration number KTU223GH, and two motorcycle riders, commonly referred to as Okadas.
A Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer from the Isolo Unit Command, speaking under condition of anonymity, confirmed that two fatalities were recorded from the crash. The officer stated, “The incident occurred after a tanker driver suddenly lost control due to brake failure before crashing into a car and a commercial bus whose registration numbers could not be ascertained at press time.”
“Apparently, the truck suddenly developed brake failure and in the process crashed into those two vehicles. In the ensuing confusion, sympathizers carried some bodies out of the vehicles. At least four or six from the wreckages,” the eyewitness described.
